Inclusive Schools Network Welcomes New Director, John Verre!

We’re excited to announce the appointment of John Verre as the new Director of the Inclusive Schools Network (ISN)!

The ISN team is deeply grateful for the dedication of our educators and their ongoing efforts to expand inclusive opportunities for students. Your commitment to increasing access to services, promoting equity, and ultimately improving student success is truly inspiring.

John brings a remarkable career spanning over five decades to his new role. He has held various leadership positions including Principal, Assistant Superintendent for Special Education and Student Services, Special Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools, Ombudsman, and Court Appointed Monitor. This diverse experience gives him a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by educators at all levels.

John’s passion for inclusive education extends beyond his direct experiences. He served as Co-Chair of the Editorial Board for the Harvard Educational Review, Co-Director of the Harvard Institute on Critical Issues in Urban Special Education, and led consulting groups focused on improving outcomes for students with disabilities and other challenges. Most recently, he joined Stetson and Associates as an Adjunct Associate Consultant.

As a valued member of the ISN community, you play a vital role in the success of Inclusive Schools Week™ (ISW). Your support in spreading awareness about this important celebration is instrumental. Through your participation, we bring much-needed attention to the incredible strides schools and communities are making toward inclusion.

In the coming months, John will lead a review of current ISN and ISW initiatives, aiming to expand our programming and maximize its impact on all students.
