Disabilities Awareness Day at Helen Morgan School
Share this story:
Helen Morgan School celebrated Inclusive Schools Week with a special Disabilities Awareness Day. The 4th graders participated in a series of simulations facilitated by special services staff as well as high school student leaders. In the pictures, you can see the activities included simulations related to fine motor challenges (sock activity), gross motor (wheelchair navigation and basketball game), sensory challenges (trampoline and scooter activities) and hearing challenges (headphones). This event was a great opportunity for students to put themselves in other students’ shoes.
The gallery below depicts more simulated “differences” for 4th graders, and demonstrating the supports to include all.
