Flint Hill Elementary Inclusive Schools Week Celebration 2012

Inclusive Schools Week (ISW) is an annual event sponsored by the Inclusive Schools Network. Celebrated during the first week in December, ISW was created to commemorate the progress that schools have made in providing a quality education to an increasingly diverse student population including students who are marginalized due to disability, gender, socioeconomics status, cultural heritage language preference and other factors. ISW also provides an important opportunity for educators, students and parents to discuss what else needs to be done in to ensure that their schools continue to improve their ability to successfully educate all children.

Flint Hill Elementary School will celebrate Inclusive Schools Week by recognizing that all students have differences as well as strengths and weaknesses during the week of December 3 through December 7. So how does the FHES PTA plan to recognize our differences and celebrate our strengths? We would like our students to tell us about their strengths, and we would like to highlight these strengths by creating a “Recognizing Differences, Celebrating Strengths” bulletin board in our school lobby.
